Yesterday I hiked the Herman Gulch Trail. It's a fairly easy 7ish mile out and back trail right off of I-70. Like literally right off - it has it's own exit! Exit 218 if you'd like to try it for yourself. It's unmarked, so you just turn left and voila, the parking lot and trail! So easy!

Do you know what it feels like to miss New Orleans?
I traveled to New Orleans for the first time over Christmas the year after Hurricane Katrina covered over 80% of the city with water. My family and I spent our holiday break volunteering. Like most Americans, I thought I could empathize with the people of New Orleans after seeing the terrible stories all over the news. I thought I had a fairly accurate understanding of the devastation. But I was wrong.

Take Time to Look
Antelope Canyon - near Page, AZ |
The idea to start a blog is a strange one. I've had it in the back of my mind for years, but how annoying is it to write a blog about.. yourself? Really annoying, which is why this won't be just about me. A "lifestyle blog" as they say (whoever "they" are). I want to share experiences, art, beauty, travel, books, and sometimes just my opinion on the stranger things in life.
As I get older I realize more and more the importance of looking. I mean really looking. At everything. The sky, the ground, the people around you, the art on the walls, even the posts in your blog feed.
